Adrienne Hubert

Within the Board of IAWBH Adrienne Hubert applies herself to represent practitioners and to further the thematic overview of the field of bullying and harassment at work, by coordinating  the Special Interest Groups (SIGs).

Adrienne Hubert is the managing director of a consultancy firm in the Netherlands, Hubert Consult, which specialises in policy research and implementation related to workplace bullying, sexual harassment, discrimination, aggression and violence. Her company is involved in training managers, confidential supporters and grievance committees in tackling unwanted workplace behaviours. Her master’s degree (1996) explored ‘mobbing’ and she followed this with two years working as a scientific researcher at the University of Leiden where she undertook the first major studies into workplace bullying in the Netherlands. She has presented the results from her studies at national and international conferences and in a number of (inter)national journals and books.

Having investigated prevalence rates, consequences and antecedents of workplace bullying, Adrienne Hubert became more interested in how the problem should be managed. From her own company she started policy research regarding unwanted behaviour at the request of authorities like the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employability, the Dutch Federation of trade unionism and various branch organisations. She is now mainly working as a practitioner, disseminating research-based knowledge in organisations.
